Will an upgrade from Vista 64 Ultimate to Win7 64 Ultimate screw my system? (1 Viewer)

As topic says, do you think its a seriously bad idea to upgrade my system from vista 64 to windows 7 64? Will it completely mess with my codecs as well as the OS itself?

Would it be better to do a fresh install, or is the upgrade safe to do?

I did the "upgrade" route on Vista32 Ultimate -> Win7 Ultimate, 2 weeks later now on a clean Win7 64 which I also had setup as part of dualboot, actually found that I had more driver problems with 32, for instance there was a hauppauge update for my tv card which refused to install, went straight in on 64.

Really just found odd unexplained glitches otherwise, sounds a bit like RC2 upgrade reports
