Win 7 & MediaPortal (1 Viewer)

Just finished putting together my HTPC and installed Windows 7 and the latest stable MediaPortal.

There seems to be a problem with Internet connectivity as the weather configuration keeps failing on the search city, asking me to check if I have Internet access?

I first thought it was a firewall issue so after setting both MP and MP Config as allowed programs it failed again, so I temporarily disabled the firewall completely and the same problem continues?

Any suggestions?

Are you talking about 1.0.2?
If so, IIRC Weather.com did some changes after 1.0.2 was released, so newer version is needed.

(Hopefully someone else can confirm this)

Hi.
MediaPortal 1.0.x is NOT fully compatible with Win 7. You can get it to work properly, but it's a bit tricky. On Win 7 it's highly recommended to use 1.1 Beta with latest SVN.

BTW you can get the weather plugin to work normal if you add the city(ies) you want manually to mediaportal.xml. This is the way I have to do it every time as my city isn't found the normal way... Lots of people was asking for alternative weather data sources as weather.com isn't too good at all. But due the feature freeze for 1.1 there isn't something done here at the moment.
