Ok, I might not be a total newbie when it comes to Mediaportal but I've never used Win 7. I'm in the process of upgrading my htpc with an ssd as 1.1.0 is right around the corner (?), and might as well switch OS. What are the pros and cons on XP vs 7? The machine is purely used as an htpc, and I value stability/workability rather than picture quality, but not at any price. I don't use the TV-part, it is purely a movie/tv-series/onlinevideo media center. Media is stored on a samba share, if that is of any concern?

Hi,
I just upgraded my clients (TV; eeeBox and eeeTop) with win 7, and I must say, I did not find any glitches, its really an improvement over xp, but if you're not unsing TV it might not be such a big difference, except when whatching movies.
I think its much faster and much more stable that xp.

Just to future proof, I would go for win7 32bit, absolutely nothing on the 64bit version enthralls me for normal pc use, plus 2gb of ram is ample.
