Hi
I'm currently running MP 1.1.0 (with latest SVN) on a Windows 7 64 Ultimo OS. My MCE remote works with everything except controlling the volume up/down. My soundcard is Realtek (ATI) and I'm using the HDMI output for both Video and Audio.
Any suggestions?

using the same remote, same os, 64 bit too! :)

as far as i know, you only can control volume if goes through your soundcard.
since you are sending it directly via hdmi, there is no way to change volume via HTPC

if you switch to audio out via HDMI of your graphic-card out, there is no possible sound control via MCE remote.
in this case i would suggest you to put audio through from tv directly to your receiver.

but it depends on your tv
my tv doenst supports DTS and that's why cant put incoming hdmi DTS through to receiver
on AC3 or other audio source like stereo, it only sends stereo through.

for the moment, i am using speakers directly connected to my PC.
just switch to settings menu -> my movies-> audio -> audio device -> "default directsound" or some other (not your hdmi)

my 5.1 system is coming next week.
to get the better sound, i will use a SP/DIF output on my onboard soundcard and go directly to the receiver. so it stays digital through transport and every audio format should be played well via 5.1 and a receiver

in this case, i guess i will have to use the receiver remote for volume control and can use MCE, too. since it goes through my soundcard

if you re missing a digital out, you can buy a cheap soundcard.
and you even can connect your analog speaker out of your soundcard to your receiver. that you can control via MCE remote AND receiver remote.

hope that clears things up
