I'm using MediaPortal 1.0.2 with Black Glass Skin on my Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit machine and everything is working fine! No Problems so far :)

If you're using the original MCE-Remote you just have to tick a checkbox in the MediaPortal Configuration and BAM your Remote is working :)

Hi.

Sorry, but that is not true. The MCE Remote didn't work on Win 7 with MP Versions lower than 1.1. This is due some internal changes Microsoft has done with Win 7. On XP and Vista this is the way it goes, but unfortunately not on Win7

If you don't want to install the recent Version 1.1Beta on Win7 (no matter if it's 32 or 64 bit) you have to install IRServer Suite to get the MCE remote working.

On Win7 it's much better to use 1.1 Beta with newest SVN instead of the non- compatible 1.0.2. On my Win7 x64 Machine this version (1.1Beta with SVN 24669) is the most stable, fastest and best working MediaPortal Version ever.

The only thing not working "Out of the box" is the "Green Button". There you need this version of mptray_mod.

AW: Re: AW: Re: windows 7 64bit

Hi
...You do not need that any more as it is included in the latest SVN as I'm using it and it works a treat with TGB and W7 x64.
On my machine the integrated mptray didn't work, also I use the latest SVN. Mptray simply didn't start at all. The only thing that's working like a charm is the linked mptray_mod version with manual install. Maybe it's because of having deinstalled WMC completely...

Initially it did not work for me either. However I found that as I used the "other" MPTray which included a batch file to remove it I had to use that and then reboot the PC before applying the latest SVN and then tick the options box for it to work. I even wrote about it being a potential bug in the SVN thread due to it not being loaded as a running process and thus not working.

It now works fine and cane be seen when running msconfig as noted here, on the first page...

    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...t-01-08-2010-02-15h-revision-24669-rar-75857/

..you will note my problems in that first page.

So is Win7 64-bit "OK" for Media Portal, or is it better than 32-bit?

I have gotten a 32-bit Windows (OEM) with my new 64-bit system (dunno why), so I wonder if I should have it replaced or not. The system is dedicated for playing movies and watching HDTV all using MP.

MP is still 32-bit, so I guess it doesn't matter for that... what about drivers, codecs etc?
