Hi everyone,

I know Windows 7 is not officially supported by MediaPortal, but I'm giving Windows 7 RC a try.
I'd like to install MP 1.01 Client-only (MP server is running on a dedicated HTPC).

However, installer quits just after I click "Install" - because of Direct X.
Installer has not been run as administrator, just normal user.

So, has anyone figured out how to install MP on Windows 7?
Any help appreciated.

Thanks,

Heiko

Ok, turned back to MP 1.0.0 as suggested in another post here in the forum.
IT WORKED.
Obviously the installer of MP 1.0.1 crashes on the very new Direct X 11 built into Win7 and detectes it as outdated, although it is actually a newer version!

@Developers:
This should be fixed quickly, as it is a very unnecessary bug, can easily be solved and thus make MP Win7 compatible...

    Hi,
Do not crosspost! We will support OS when it's out of beta stage & someone can get us a legal copy of a working(final) one ;)

    Regards

    You are right.
However, as you can see with the posting times, I first thought it is just a local problem on my system.
Then I discovered that just MP101-installer is affected (while MP100 installer works fine), so I decided to post a note in the developer forum. As you can see, my other post has NO request for help, it is just a note.

Didn't know of course, that all forums are checked by programmers :)

PS: My Win7 RC is a fully legal copy activated online with Microsoft Servers :)
