Ok, i have a machine with windows 7 pro X64 installed, latest Media Portal TV Server release (not beta/rc...i think its 10.2?) and For The Record.
The computer records both DVB-T and Cable TV (Foxtel) through an Analog input on a Hauppauge 150 MCE.
The computer has 8GB of RAM in it, and there is a firmware issue with the 150 MCE and 4GB or more RAM, so i am looking for a card to replace it.
I am seriously looking at the Hauppauge HVR-1700 MCE. Has hardware MPEG2 encorder and IR Remote/Blaster.
My current card has a blaster aswell.
I am wanting the computer to be able to change the channel on the Foxtel STB.
I have IRSS installed but can't get it to work with my current card. I suspect the reason is the age of the card and compatibility with Windows 7.
Currently IRSS doesn't seem to see the IR part of my Hauppauge 150 MCE card
If i get the HVR-1700 MCE, should that work with IRSS?
Anyone have any idea if the new card will work? or any suggestions as to why its not working?
