OK, this must be a silly question, but how to open UDP Ports 6970 - 9999 as stated in the Wiki? I can only open one port at the time in Windows XP SP2 Firewall, which would take for ages to compleate. There must be an easier way, but I wasn't able to find it out even with the trusty Google.

When I disable the firewall things work OK, but I don't fancy that.

Hi Sasler,

I came across the same problem when I was trying out the new TV Server. My solution was to replace the Windows firewall with a free, 3rd party one. I now use Comodo - http://www.comodo.com/products/free_products.html
With this installed, you can make all of your home network into an unrestricted zone which removes the complication of opening ports for specific purposes.

Regards, Ian.

Hi Sasler,

for TVEngine3 you just have to allow these Programes to bypass the firewall:

TVService = Can be found in your TV Server directory
SQLServr = Can be found in "c:\program files\microsoft sql server\mssql\mssql\binn\"
SQLBrowser = Can be found in "c:\program files\microsoft sql server\90\shared\"

regards

i had also problems with the windows firewall...

you have to open mysql ports, too (only if mysql is used). the needed file is the "mysql-nt.exe" in the mysql\bin directory.
