Will the WinTV-CI be supported in mediaportal now, I saw some month ago something about it and now it looks like its out. http://www.hauppauge.se/pages/products/data_wintv-ci.html (Swedish site)

afaik it is still not availble to buy anywhere.
and it turned out that there was a major problem with the SDK we got. we are still waiting for updates from hauppauge.......
we are also still waiting for a new driver for the Nova-HD-S2 and the HVR-4000

i bought the HVR-4000 and wintv ci and installed the new drivers that came with it..
didn't work.. duh!!
however..
trying to use the FireDTV with CI again it won't work. Tried to uninstall all drivers and reinstall the ones i needed, but i get this in the error log:
couldn't find a matcing interface between MpTsAnalyzer and TVLib..........IWinTvUsbCI.
But i uninstalled all drivers and removed the usb thingie..
so..
Any progress ?

it seems that there are leftovers from the WinTvUsbCi in your system. that causes the issue. (windows registry / dll's)
you coul try to use the windows restore point feature to get to the point befor the installation.
the problem to support the WinTvUsbCi is not technical.
we have been adviced to remove the support (right after we avvounce it ), because the sdk we got was send to us "by accident"
no news from hauppauge since that time (~2months ago) :sorry:

I am running a Xubuntu machine as a server with all my movies and series on it, I run a VirtualBox VM with Windows 10 installed on the virtual machine and MP1 client installed on that.
MP runs fine on the VM but I no longer have a tv tuner to test if passthrough is possible. I don't think it would work anyway.

I have a PC running Win10.....which as you know is about to lose support from MS.
It isn't capable of an 'official' upgrade to...
maybe setting loglevel to debug might pinpoint the difference between normal and stuck?
Preferable with as much disabled as possible
also try to see if anything is happening during stuck for the mediaportal process(resource monitor, disk activity, cpu usage, anything)
maybe other programs competing for resouces?

Since over a year my MP sometimes stucks while showing the welcome screen. It started once a week now it happens every second time...
I've updated dlls in first post.
Fixes:
Summary / Overview was always empty
Collections were not filtered to official ones
Studios were not populated
Fallback to english tagline didn't work
Score / Popularity now empty instead of dummy rating and unknown popularity numbers
