Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone can tell me if analog input from this device is supported. My fanless HTPC died (water cooling leaked out) and I need to build/buy another fanless HTPC machine. Problem is, all commercially available machines I can find won't take PCI cards as they are all small form factor Mini-ATX boxes, so I need a USB device to get my Fox input in via SVideo.
If noone knows about this box, can anyone recommend a USB device that will work with MP and support analog SVideo in ?
Thanks

Edit: Link to specs. http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/site/products/data_hvr1900.html

I just realised it is only NTSC for video, back to the search. I am suprised at how hard it is to find an analog usb device that supports MP.

    Hi there

Why would you think NTSC would mean it isn't supported? I think it should be fine as long as it has BDA drivers (which most tuners do). If it isn't supported then I will eat my hat and help you add support (within reason of course)! :)

Thanks for the response. What I meant was that I am in Oz on a PAL system, this box appears to support NTSC only ?? I am not fussed if I can't use the digital TV part, as there are heaps of USB cards for this, but I need PAL analog.
    Cheers

    Oh, I see.
Well according to this page it is PAL. Usually Hauppauge make two versions of analog tuners - an NTSC and a PAL version - since they distribute in multiple countries. The HVR1950 (advertised on the American site is the NTSC version of the same thing. The HVR 1900 is on the UK site - a PAL country. Don't quote me as I don't have the tuner myself, but I'm 80% certain the HVR 1900 should support PAL.

Better find one and buy me one of them suckers then :) From what I can see in the specs there should be no reason it would not be possible to get it going under MP should there ?

Nothing obvious I can see. Generally speaking the only tuners that aren't supported by default in MediaPortal are:
    - tuners with WDM drivers instead of BDA drivers
    - analog tuners that require a cable connection to the soundcard for sound to work

Nether of those seem to apply here, and like I said I'll be happy to try and add support or offer advice if you hit trouble.

    :)
