I have the wintv nova t usb not the nova t usb2, however I had the same problem as you with it crashing whilst searching for tv channels. This only occured when using the setup within MP, if I use the external setup option outside of MP it then worked fine.

Maybe a solution to your problem and maybe not.

Thanks for that, not sure if this is the correct route, MediaPortal setup----TV channels-----Lookup.
If this is correct I could not find UK in the list of countries.

Hi, No thats not the route I took, go Media Portal setup - Television - capture cards - select your capture card - edit (edit isnt available if you dont select your card) - autotune (second tab at top)

Well, the log doesn't show any problems. I can see correctly tuned channels in the log. It seems to me that the tuner works fine. Can you copy the created ts file(located in your timeshift folder) somewhere else while in channel preview and try to play it in VLC or MPC-HC? PS: You can also try to make short record

It's getting weirder..... If I remove all the IP cards in the TVServer setup and then add them back I can scan the M3u and tune the stations but if I rescan it on the same card it just keeps updating the 1 channel. My brain is melting.........

Perhaps... Only way to confirm would be for me to invest in a different USB DVB-S2 tuner (like the Hauppauge WinTV-NOVA-S2), which I might do if the issue persists.

Ok, so perhaps a solution, but not the "right" solution. On the client, within media portal configuration, under TV settings, advanced options, I switched to UNC paths instead of the default RSS, and it's working very well. Sure I had to figure out the paths, but no big deal. Maybe helpful for someone in the future. Thanks for the...
