Hi,
I have happily used MP for more than half a year, last 0.2.0.2. Hauppauge HVR 1300 and WinXP Pro SP2 (unfortunately unligitimate copy). All functions I needed worked nicely.
A week ago I had to make a clean system and used my legitimate WinXP home and updated it to SP2. No change in hardware. I used the latest drivers for Hauppauge and to my recollection followed the same stepps as I used in WinXP pro (actually the steps pointed out in "HowTo Install WindowsXP and MediaPortal without the headache").
MP crashes in the initial wizard when it should open the first tuning menue.
My question before I start another tidius session with Googling and searching the forum (which I already have done for a coupple of days):
Are there any known issues I should consider like special codecs or versions of drivers or needed processes with HVR 1300 and XP Home?

The GUI wizard has problems with (dual tuner or 2) cards, when one of them is DVB-T.

Please use configuration.exe to install/configure your card in MP.

Thank You for quick reply!
configuration.exe starts the very same wizard. I ignored the Windows crash note and stept thru the wizard though. Tuning was then possible in MP setup both for digital and analog parts. MP starts and causes a crash. Part of errorlog:

Now, how do I get this in order?

    Hi,
From your log i see you're using 0.2.0.4, this has a problem with Hauppauge remote & some Scandinavian installations & you have to update your MP installation to latest SVN or wait for a new stable patch 0.2.0.5 & disable the hauppauge remote.

    Drivers:
First you should update your remote driver to latest version found here grab the one in "Driver + Software" (for your card) CD Version 2.5e(link), use only the updated driver for the remote & the driver for your tuner card (Other software on that cd not necessary)

    SVN:
To install a SVN you should backup your MediaPortal folder(copy it to a safe place), so you easily can revert & apply the new stable patch when it's ready.

    Regards

    Thank You Roy,
I have just tested my MP and it works smoothly again. Chosed to followed Your advise to use the last SVN on 0.2.0.0 after updating all drivers.
One observation though: I had to navigate past a Windows exception sign going thru the initial wizard and make configuration in MP Setup instead.
    Kind regards,
    Ingvar

    Hi,
The installation (first time) Wizard & some Scandinavians version it's a known problem. For some reason on those setup sqlite make this exceptions when using the first time Wizard. With the new TVEngine which use an other database this will not happen.

    Regards
    Roy
