    Hello

I have installed IR Server Suite - Test Build 1.4.2.2391 on MP 1.0 and have found the following...

    I am using this remote..

a Trust 2400 MS certified remote and it is recognised, and works, as follows...

in turn it is configured (the bottom buttons are greyed out and not selectable even with the disable WMC ticked or not)...

and I can check that when the PC boots the IR service is running fine...

all is fine and it works ok EXCEPT when the PC is rebooted.

The IR service is still running but as soon as I press TGB on the remote up pops the WMC config main blue screen and totally takes over the PC. This happens when MP is running and I use TGB on the remote or when just on the Windows desktop (Vista 32 SP1).

However if I run the Input Service Configuration again and then click ok it then states that the service will be restarted again. When it does this then TGB is disabled from starting the WMC config and it behaves how I would expect. It will continue this way until the PC is rebooted when I have to run the config again to prevent TGB from starting the WMC config.

Would I be right to expect the config of the IR suite to remain when the PC is rebooted or switched off without having to run the config for it each and every time to disable the WMC from running..?

    Thanks for any help :)

Thanks very much for your prompt reply :)

The first option to try was not possible as Vista Home Premium does not have GPE.

The second option works a treat except I have now found the following...

If the PC is switched off and then back on I HAVE to run the config again for the remote not because of the disabling of TGB and WMC but because most of the functions of the remote simply do not work. The pause, play TGB etc etc will not work in MP. When the Input Service Configuration is then ran with the registry fix provided in the last post the config does not recognise TGB. When the registry fix is not applied and then th ePC is rebooted I run the Input Service Configuration again and all is well.

    To summarise...

If I apply the reg fix then I have to run the Input Service Configuration anyway for my remote to be working in MP.

If I don't apply the reg fix then I have to run the Input Service Configuration to prevent WMC from starting when in MP.

It gives me the impression that the settings which the IR service apply on each boot are not being applied until the Input Service Configuration is ran each time.

I'm not sure why it behaves the way that it does

this one's come up a few times. i posted a thread about it when i encountered the problem a few weeks ago, i've also replied on another thread about the same thing

    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/mce-replacement-plugin-165/mce-services-came-back-51062/
    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...ion-direction-arrow-buttons-22797/index2.html

specifically, you have to manually disable the 3 MCE services and the "HID Input Service" yourself (it's not enough that they're switched off, they must be disabled), and disable "ehtray.exe" from loading at startup in msconfig
