"Improved quality for Hauppauge PVR cards (went from CBR 4mbps to VBR 6-10 mbps, Major difference!) "

I hope You don't hardcode anything like this. I'm using 12Mbit Variable bitrate with GOP sequence for PAL just now to get best quality. I don't want to step back to any worse...
If anything like this is implemented it MUST be a user setting to set.

    thanks for Your hard work/gabbe

    Gabbe,

As of the latest CVS this is not configurable.
It would be good though - I like yourself use a different setting.

What I suggest you do is export your registry key for iva15(or iva16) to a file.
Then when you install 0.1.0.4 and it does not have an option to configure the settings you can at least import that key back easily.

    Moved to Feature Requests.

Thanks for the answer. If its only the installer that change the settings I'm happy. I can change back after install :)
A user that use the 4Mbit CBR now will be very happy for the increase i quality (mostly if (s)he have a large display).
    regards /gabbe

As far as I know MP ALWAYS used the 4Mbit CBR hardcoded, regarding the settings you did.

    Aurora13,

If you hacked the registry yourself then MP would use those settings.
By default those registry settings were set to 4Mb by Hauppauge.
