I type the channel number with my remote and I get the wrong channel. The channels are always off by one. When trying to go to channel 7, for instance, I get channel 8. This happens on every channel, and I always get one channel higher. Why is this?

Thread moved.

Search for "Logical Channel Numbering" here on the forums.

Uncheck "Select channel by index (non-US)" in configuration.exe/Television.

I have the same issue. I searched the forum and did not find anyone who actually got this working. There was a post about replacing a .ax file in \system32 but it only got the sorting to work correctly, not changing channels.

I wrote a quick little utililty to update the TV database for external set top boxes since this support is really lacking in the MP configuration. It should automatically set the external channel number to the number of the channel, but instead it sets the channel to 25000 and the external channel to 0 or something. So I wrote a little program to fix the sorting and external channel numbering, but even after unchecking the "select channel by index" box, it still does not change to the correct channel and all the posts I saw show the same behavior. I have tried on both 0.2.0.4 and SVN from 9/14.

I also updated the channel number from 25000 to the real channel number and the sort index to the channel number, but still it does not work.

Is there a real answer to this problem or does it simply not work in MP right now. Should I go to the source code and try to fix??

Hello MrGoober,

I saw your thread and for some reason I didn't think it would work for me. I posted in your thread because the link to the updated dll is not working right now.

I do not scan the channels as my items are tuned through an external box. I simply imported the channels from the TV guide, then ran my program to clean it up and add the information for external channels. I can make the program do pretty much anything to the database, so if there is something that needs to be added to the DB, I can do that easily now.
