    Hi everyone,

    I have the following problem:

I set all the Haali settings (default audio language priority and so on) but Mediaportal is ignoring it.
In the Videos section of configuration my default language is also English. But Mediaportal choses
the wrong the language time after time - this is really annoying.

The MKV I was testing with has nicely described tracks, it should work. Rendering the graph outside
of MP gives the expected results.

Tried searching the forum, but didn't find anything useful - yet

    :D

    Kind regards,

    MMF

Ok, I think setting Invariant language in Videos settings did the trick :D

    Of course ...
When you want to correct this in your files, use mkvtoolnix/mkvmerge for default tracks and lang. But beware new problems: Some mkv's has delays on sound so the sound is not synchrone with the movie after re-muxing. Then you have to play a little bit with those settings.

I searched the whole site (google and insite search) and this behavior is not documented anywhere. So I am a little confused because of your "of course"

Still, english subtitles are shown for english movies, even with the setting (eng, off) in Haali.

Remuxing would be possible, but that's not really a solution :D

    Kind regards,

In MKVs you can set flags for default language and/ore force language (for subs is it sometimes necessarily). Those settings have an higher priority than others! That causes sometimes problems when this files are played :D. mkvmerge is a very useful tool to change those flags.

Hi. In mkvmerge it is also possible to set flags without new muxing. Use the Header Editor in mkvmerge insted.
In mkvmerge the most options are explained in itself ore push on F1 to get help.

Hi, thanks for posting - I've downloaded mkvmerge GUI and used the header editor to switch default language to english - when I test using VLC it correctly plays the audio track that is selected as default but when I use in MediaPortal it always plays the german track (regardless of what is set to default in the headers).

    Any ideas?

Thanks again for your post :)

I'm using SAF v5.0 - I think it's something to do with this so I'll also post in that thread.

Maybe you configured MePo to always prefer the German track?
You should take a look at Configuration -> Videos -> Language. and maybe change the default audio language.
