XMLTV Channel Logos (1 Viewer)

I vaguely remember seeing something on the forums quite some time ago where you could use XMLTV to automatically download TV Logos for each channel instead of having to do each channel manually. The only problem is I've searched and cand find anything remotely close to what I'm looking for and I'm wondering if I'm losing my mind.

Anyone?

XMLTV Channel Icons

FROM XMLTV documentation. Not sure for Canada, following is for North America Direct Data (na_dd):

Adding icon links to listings
tv_grab_na_dd checks for channel icons in a directory *share*/icons. The
*share* directory is usually set during the install. For windows exe
users, it defaults to the location where xmltv.exe is. tv_grab_na_icons
is available to download the icons.

After you download the icons, how do you get mediaportal to display them? is there another parameter you need to add to the grabber sting? I didn't see anything about that in the readme.

If you point MP to your XMLTV directory it should display them. If not you can copy them over to your "MediaPortal\thumbs\tv\logos" directory.

hmm, unless I'm missing something MP is pointed to the xmltv dir since I'm able to run the grabber from MP, and copying the logos over to thumbs still doesn't display them. I'm using Blue Two right now and running the latest CVS

Sorry, I forgot all about the nameing of the icons, They have to match the channel name.
An example of mine: "6 HBOP" is the HBO channel and the icon has to be named "6 HBOP.jpeg"
Mine have been set for a long time, sorry I forgot to mention it earlier.

Take a look at http://www.lyngsat-logo.com/
They have much better icons then the ones XMLTV downloads.
