XMLTV for the rest of us (1 Viewer)

There is no grabber for NZ in the MediaPortal list.

I have several options (of variable reliability) for getting a tvguide.xml file onto my PC. Can I just dump this file somewhere and have MP load it in the appropriate way?

I read through the XMLTV for Aussie thread and it all makes very little sense.

I'm also in NZ. And currently it doesn't seem that you can just dump the xml file in the directory. (which I'm doing anyway)
Maybe someone else could look into this? I don't have time at the moment.
Also in the setup you cannot choose no XMLTV grabber.

I'm on another computer, so I can't tell you exactly where to put the file, but have you named it tvguide.xml? That's what MP looks for

Perhaps a bit off topic, but I am also in NZ.

To tell you the truth, this whole xmltv thing is damn annoying for me. I am a so called "IT Professional" and I find it just so annoyingly difficult.

Has anybody written a simple little windows app that has a wizard that says pick your country, pick your xmltv directory, pick your channels, set update timing and hey presto. In my mind it should be that simple?

Is anybody doing this? I employ developers that are capable, but it would have to be commercial in that case.

I am a NZ user and i have it working.. goosey has it working now as well.. he talks about it in the forms over at my website..

basicly you call it tvguide.xml and put it in the xmltv folder (set in the configuration).. that should work..
go to the tv guide in media portal and it should be all there.. if it isnt press F3 to refresh the list..
you also have to manually setup the channels..
if you cant even find working listings there are a couple of sources listed on my site as well..
