XMLTV-plugin in TVServer adds "empty" channels (1 Viewer)

Hi,

Iam using WebEPG to create a tvguide.xml every day. I configured all the channels for which I want to have EPG-data. As far as I can see in the tvguide.xml all EPG-data is correctly grabbed from WebEPG.
But every time the xmltv-plugin of the TVServer3 imports the tvguide.xml some channels are added to the TVServer-channel-list although they are already in this list with exactly the same name. These new channels have only "0"s in their details for frequency, etc. This always and only happens with the same channels (e.g. Eurosport, "MDR Fernsehen"). I already removed these channels in the WebEPG-configuration and re-added them again, I deleted the "empty" channels in the TVServer and I double-checked the names of these channels, but it didnt help.

Has anyone any idea what the problem could be?

Regards,

Moorhuhn

I get that too sometimes. The best solution is to leave the channels there, but remove the tick from "Visible" so they don't appear anywhere.
It's kind of like a compromise with MP, it gets to keep the channels but we don't see them. :)

I also thought about marking them as invisible as well. The only thing is that I would be afraid, that the EPG-data may go into the "empty" channels, which I marked as invisible and not in the right channels.

I have the same problem, every time xmltv imports I get a whole bunch of "empty" channels.

    Like I have
    Canal+ Mix on the dvb-s
    and cnplmix from the xmltv

    CANAL+ FILM1 on the dvb-s
and Canal+ film1 from the xmltv

Previously the solution was to combine these channels, however now I have to do this every time xmltv runs. Previously I just did it once.

I tried around a lot with XMLTV. The last thing, that I changed and after that it did work without creating empty channels was to (again) delete the empty channels in the TVServer and delete and recreate these channels in case-sensitive writing in the XMLTV-Setup-application. Although Iam not sure if this was the problem in my case it may be worth trying for you.

I know that the naming thing works, I didn't know that there was a way og naming the xmltv channels. How does it work ?

Oh, Iam sorry. I mixed things up: The Setup-Application I was talking about is the WebEPG-conf.exe, not a XMLTV-Setup-Application. I wrote the last post from my memory without looking in the details before. Sorry.
With WebEPG-conf.exe you can simply add, update or delete channels for your WebEPG-grabber.

Why not? For me it works absolutely fine. I copied all the necessary files (see the wiki) from the MP-client to the server, scheduled a daily event via WindowsXP-Task-Scheduler and thats about it.

It is just a little bit problematic to get all the channels in WebEPG. I think, the best way would be to manually add them all, although there are other ways for importing them... But this really does not work well with TVE3.

Thanks for the tip, I just tried it and was unable to import any channels. Didn't know it could work as a standalone, and add you own channels manually.

The Norwegian grabber was a little dated though, I check if I can find a updated one, or I'll have to update it myself.
