I cannot find any information about a 64 Bit version of MediaPortal. Is there anything planned? I just retired a server and it will become my HTPC, but I cannot get MP to run on xp64 bit.

Thank you.

As i know there is no 64Bit Version of MP planed. But i also can´t see any gain to run Windows XP x64. Its slower than the 32Bit Version and you get much trouble with the shell extensions. The only thing of Windows XP x64 i loved was the inkompatibility to 16Bit Applikations. Stops many Viruses from installation :D Even if MediaPortal would run you would get into trouble with the tvserver of MediaPortal. Windows XP x64 is based on Windows 2003 Server and has therefore no BDA Support. I would recommend to install XP Professional. The only use for a 64Bit OS is if you have more than 3,25GB Ram installed. But as i see you have only 1GB! Windows XP x64 was a nice Techdemo but nothing more, took a long time for me to learn that.

Nice but they don´t run faster in 64Bit Mode! I had a Dual Dualcore Xeon Server complete from Intel. But there was no software that was faster on the 64Bit OS. 64Bit doesn´t mean they are faster it means only that you can use more memory if you have a 64Bit OS, too.

Well, I hate to waste 64bit processors on a 32bit OS and applications, so I will throw Cent back on the machine and run a different program.

Thank you all for the replies.
