Frustrating new issue, and doesn't even seem related to MediaPortal
1- XP and MP operate normally for around 30 mins
2 - HDD activity light comes on solidly implying large amount of disk activity
3 - PC becomes unresponsive, media stops playing, VNC cannot connect from other computers on network
4 - unresponsive to CTRL+ALT+DEL or any combination similar.
5 - PC has to be hard switched off by holding down power button
6 - once restarted, problem does not re-occur.
Not sure if anyone can suggest anything for this - I will try a system restore, and failing that it looks like a clean XP install again to fix this one, but if anyone has an ideas before the weekend.
I am wondering if it's a HDD playing up, but the WD diagnostics show them all to be ok. I may do a clean install and then use the WD TrueImage application to make a disc image so I can easily restore in future.
