Hi,

following problem: While watching a xvid movie under mp the quality is very poor, when i use the windows media player its good. The tv quality isnt that good either.

I used DScaler Mpeg2 Video Decoder and Cyberlink MPEG Muxer... no changes. I tried post processing on and off.

Changing between those 2 would have made absolutely no difference (apart from the fact a mpeg muxer isnt a video decoder) because xvid's use either the xvid, divx or ffdshow decoder.

    Allright.

But how would you explain that it runs perfectly with the windows media player 9?

    Hi,

fera. For these cases we also have a nice support template. This way we could know which MP version you have and what settings for rendering (overlay vs. VMR9) you use.

What codec did you install for XviD playback? (DivX, XviD, ffdshow)
You may use Graphedit, to check what codec is used by MP...

I guess it's due to your videocard "Nvidia Geforce4 MX 440"... I not real sure but I thought that it doesn't really is directx9 compliant, which can cause problems with VMR9..

But hey I could be wrong :D

Agreed with Boelshit, MP relies on Directx 9 compliance, thats why i ditched my own 440 originally installed because of future issues.
ps. otherwise system youve got should run MP well.

    Time moves on.
