for the last 2 days now I've been met with several crashed MP instances being caused by the Zap2it plugin. From what I can gather from the log files the plugin is not able to connect to the zap2it servers and is throwing out an exception that crashes MP entirely

Here is the past bin for viewing.

Currently running MP 0.2.2.0 Stable with Zap2it plugin 1.8

Yes -- same thing here. My Mediaportal crashed back to the desktop with the same errors in the log as you -- if I disable the zap2it plugin everything is fine. I did a quick search in the forums and it looks like the service is due to be unplugged? What a bummer...

I just noticed this beginning to happen to me today after a routing closing of MP to do a little work on the machine it is running on. As a temporary work-around, I've disabled the Zap2It plugin. Recopying the SVN version of the plugin's dll file did not resolve the issue. If any log files are needed, I would be more than happy to provide them. This issue is extremely easy to reproduce. Every time MP starts with the plugin enabled, it crashes after a minute of running.

epg.log file contents are as follows:

    Hi,

The Zap2it labs are either down or having major problems right now and
they have not posted a status update.

I think I have fixed the crashing MP error though, but still testing it.

    HTH,
    patrick

    Hi,

Just though I would pas this along from the zap2it forums from tmstom
Thought I would let you guys know that there's been a database problem throughout the weekend on the database used to store user lineup information.
    ...
Things will hopefully be back to normal later today as we switch to a backup and fix issues on the production server.

    HTH,

Hey, It's working - kind of
I just installed 0.2.3 RC1 and as usual I am having trouble with the channels - usually I fight with it, then somehow its fixed and I am left without a answer for next time...

Anyway the problem is that although I can see the channels in the programming guide the Zap2it plugin is not adding the channels to the channel list and when I shutdown MP it loses the channel list until I run an update from zap2it....

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    -Rui

    Hi,

    Working for me this morning.

    @ ruister:
Make sure you allow the plugin to completely finish updating.
It uses a transaction that is not committed to the database
if the update does not complete successfully.

Other than that I am not really sure what you mean.

Can you start a new thread and explain exactly what happens
and include your epg.log file after an update.

    HTH,
    patrick

    Problem fixed

    Hi Patrick,

Thanks for the response - You are right, user impatience was the problem. Had I waited until the plugin finished doing its thing, the problem would have solved itself.
