Zapping Speed improvem. / collective thread (1 Viewer)

Hi together!

I think there are many people out there, who have problems with the zapping speed. I'm one of them
Searching the forum to figure out all possible improvements for the zapping speed is nearly impossible.

So let's start a thread here and collect all the improvements. To make things easier, if the thread groves, i create a link to all posts with such improvements at the bottom of this post. Maybe this is an easy way to built a wiki-part for this part of configuration.

Maybe we should also collect the zapping speeds of the different tv-cards (to make it really assimilable we should take the value by using the TV-Server / manual control / start timeshift)

One thing to speed up the zapping speed is ...

Mediaportal Configuration

-On-Screen Display

Set the Zap Delay (sec.) from 3 (preset value) to 0

Should definitely help in each setup

Thanks for the tip.
I gotta give that a try.
Why is there a zapping delay feature?
Is this feature to allow you to press zap1 zap2 zap3 and then it skips to zap3 channels instead of detecting the first zap1 channel.
If yes then a 3 second delay is fine for Grandpa but for my gaming fingers it is an eternity. Probably 0.5 second is plenty for me.
I will play around with this tonight.

disable / prefer audiostream over language

I managed to fix my zapping speed problem.

I've enabled the option "prefer audiostream over language" in MP - Config/television/tv-client/audio settings. After I disabled this option, the zapping speed decrease from 7 sec. to about 3-4 seconds. Not as fast as possible ... but for the moment it is ok in a multiseat setup.
