Hi!

I've just switched over from MP2.3.0 (stable) to the new 1.0 RC1 release and noticed that no zoom mode works (letterbox, zoom ,...). I am only able to see a difference between "source view" and "full screen".

As first thing make sure that the pixel ration is set correctly.

    follow the ::bugreport rules::
    sorry for that!

use 1280x720. in screen setting I see a square box

works like a charm here too.
well, it works. THE PROBLEM is:

If I view a TV channel which sends a 16:9 movie in a 4:3 signal it gets streched to 16:9 in scource view. So I am not able to zoom in anymore to remove the top and bottom black areas.
Another example is: If I receive a 4:3 TV signal it gets streched to 16:9 (even in normal view). In MP 0.2.3 I had left and right black areas in normal view (4:3 signal) on my LCD.

So the problem is every signal is displayed in 16:9 (for TV)

Are the allowed zoom settings ticked under Television config, if yes, untick close config, reopen config and re-enable and close config and test.

    Cheers

I have the same problem with viewing 4:3 TV broadcasts. Its not a general zoom bug IMHO as the zoom modes are working properly with viewing videos (a 4:3 video is displayed correctly when choosing 'normal' zoom on my 16:9 TV).

    *edit* Added log file

    Where do I check that?

Can someone explain me the log entries?

    2008-04-22 21:49:10.687500 [Info.][18]: PlaneScene: video WxH : 544x576
    2008-04-22 21:49:10.687500 [Info.][18]: PlaneScene: video AR : 16:9
    2008-04-22 21:49:10.687500 [Info.][18]: PlaneScene: screen WxH : 179x144

    2008-04-22 21:49:10.687500 [Info.][18]: PlaneScene: PixelRatio : 1

What are the 544x576 and 179x144 pixel dimensions? None of the seems to fit either to my TV or to the TV signal?

That's exactly what I am talking about. Working in myVideos but not in myTV, that is right, too!

    Where do I check that?
Start mediaportal (not the configuration.exe) go to settings - screen settings

I was having this issue as well I think. TV was stretched to 16:9 for unknown reasons, and was driving me nuts. For me, the cause was under the TV prefs in Configuration, the MPEG2 video decoder being set to MPV Decoder Filter. DScaler, ffdshow, AverMedia, etc when used all show 4:3 TV normally when on the Normal zoom mode... MPV shows it stretched to 16:9 in Normal mode.
