Hi guys, does anyone of you have the ASRock Smart Remote up and running? I'm having two problems: 1. I can't install the CIR drivers that are packaged with the driver CD. Neither can I install it from the web. It tells me that it cannot find the CIR device. Windows on the other hand has the device in the device manager... So I've plugged it in correctly, I guess. It also installed the Windows IR drivers. 2. How do I have to set up MP so it recognizes the remote? Currently MP fails to load (crashes), when I have some remote settings in place. Any ideas what might be wrong? Why can't I install the CIR drivers? The device is obviously available. I've also tried to uninstall the device and tried it again... no chance.
Strange, as I did setup a ASRock mini-thingy once, and the remote "just worked". I actually just used a Harmony that was programmed to be a MS MCE-remote. Do you have more info/links to the hw? Edit: Same remote.... http://www.asrock.com/nettop/overview.asp?Model=Vision 3D Series
Hi, it could be the same remote. This one came packaged with my ASRock board. http://www.asrock.com/mb/spec/card.asp?Model=Smart Remote
Hello Late post but it's relevant to what I have been researching. I haven't actually done this yet because I don't have the correct receiver, but from what I have read there is a bios on/off setting for the cir that only appears after plugging it in? However I appreciate it sounds a bit odd that windows may recognise the device if the cir has not been switched on in the bios. I'd be grateful if you could confirm because I am probably going to buy a cir device for an asrock mini itx board... Ben
