Hi all, First of all, I would like to thank kroko for his work on creating and merging various webbrowser plugins to the plugin as it is now. The long silence of kroko and a couple of minor bugs, persuaded me to further develop and fix bugs in the Browse The Web/Webbrowser plugin. The original thread is located here, which will be locked for further posts. HomePage: http://www.team-mediaportal.com/extensions/news-info/browse-the-web-webbrowser Basic description: This plugin is a webbrowser which is integrated in MediaPortal, and one of it's key features is that you can navigate with a remote control. It's based on the GeckoBrowser using the xulrunner engine, and by putting numerical id's next to each url, you simply punch that number on your remote to navigate to that url. Features: Set homepage / blank screen Edit/Save bookmarks in the setup Save bookmark inside the MP Zoom in/out Move the window in all directions Set font / zoom size in setup Rename the plugin Alternate OSD to show selected link ID Optional show status bar on bottom Buglist: when I use the option: use mouse to browse, the mouse pointer will always be visible when I enter this plugin. When I exit the plugin, the pointer will remain visible in every screen Fixed WishList: Import login/passsword import from web browser and saving RSS links detection (application/rss+xml tag in html) Create interface for loading pages with cookies from other plugin Open files with associated program (f.e. torrent files) Possibility for skinners to define the area of the statusbar and webbrowser control completed better placement of id's. (Sometimes they are not, or not fully visible) completed Key to toggle mouse-mode completed Open file urls (file://c:\index.html) Disclaimer: the order has nothing to do with priority FAQ How to install/enable flash?: Go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Select OS Select Flash player for other Browsers Don't forget to uncheck McAfee Download and install Then enable it by creating a file "btwebprefs.js" in the mediaportal programdata folder (same folder as mediaportal.xml), and adding a line user_pref("extensions.blocklist.enabled", false);
Many thanks for this! Just three q: 1) Any chance to see login/passsword import from web browser and saving? 2) What about rss links detection (application/rss+xml tag in html)? 3) What about interface for loading pages with cookies from other plugins?
Doskabouter. Great to see this plugin continuing. Could I suggest another possible future feature? How about the ability to have a hot key which enables the mouse (or turns the cursor keys into a crude mouse) so that flash videos can be played from the plugin (the play button in flash player windows don't get assigned a number currently). At the moment, if you enable mouse control the hyperlink numbers disappear completely (which is not ideal) and you can not hot swap between the two. Cheers Robbo100
Wow, you're really fast as it comes to new features I will put them in the feature list, and somehow prioritize them. Btw, didn't know that this plugin could play flash at all...
If you install the Firefox flash plugin (select "other browser" on the flash install website) then flash works like a dream!
Hi doskabouter, thanks for maintaining this plugin. Could you fix this bug: when I use the option: use mouse to browse, the mouse pointer will always be visible when I enter this plugin. When I exit the plugin, the pointer will remain visible in every screen, video, etc......, untill I restart mediaportal. Then everything is fine again.
CypherMK: Small update: I think I've fixed your mouse issue, it should dissapear now. robbo100: Is the only reason to have a mouse-toggle key for starting/stopping flash videos, or are there more use-cases where this could improve things?
