I'm thinking strongly about formatting the drive and starting over on it, fresh
From what I have seen in the event logs, that might be a real good idea.
    Food for thought...
If you know the current drivers for that system are correct, save them off someplace. Maybe a USB thumb drive?
I always install the net drivers (if MS does not see it) and then go directly into MS updates.. They take forever...
    I also reconfig Drive Cleanup

    command prompt
    cleanmgr.exe /sageset:11
    Choose Everything
    Close it
Locate the disk cleanup in the start menu and make a shortcut to your desktop
Get properties on it and change the target to end with
    cleanmgr.exe /sagerun:11
    Apply and close
Now run it. Everything you picked from the sageset:11 will run... temp folders, update folders, all kinds of crap.
Once Updates and cleanmgr is done.. defrag...
I do this for every machine I build

No BSODs (so far) since doing a clean install of Win7 on a clean formatted disk last night. Current video drivers downloaded and installed (Bios and other chip drivers are current)

installed up-to-date VLC, IrfranView, AnyDVD and OHM.

Now doing a clean install of MP 1.5 (that's the one that's running on my other systems, still)

After I install my extentions, I will copy the various settings xmls, and db and thumbs folders from my other Client.

Before I install any extra extensions, I'm running a Live TV test ... see how long it will run without crapping out.

fans running at target level 6 (bios), fan control running 69% to 78%
case temps running about 48C, cpu temps about 54C
cpu load peaked at19.6%, running about 4.2% to 10%
