High CPU Usage while Mediaportal is idle (1 Viewer)

50% cpu load

I have the same high cpu load problem. At any time, in home or movies/series (or any other I supose) screen, my CPU rate never stay lower than 50%. In fact, my cpu load was 80-90% when in idle but when I reduce the max fps of the text scroll from 50 to 25 fps, it reduce( to 40-50%).

I use MediaPortal 1.0.2.0 with StreamedMP skin and MovingPictures, TV-Series, Online Videos, Media slayer and My Trailers.

My media pc specs:

Asus A7N8X-X
AMD Athlon Barton 2600+ 1.9GHz @ 333MHz
2Gb RAM DDR 400
ATI Radeon 9600 Pro 128Mb using catalyst 9.12
Creative Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 Digital using the lastest driver available
1x250GB Samsung 8MB Buffer IDE (internal) + 1x 750Gb Samsung 32MB Buffer SATA2 (external usb)

I have the same CPU figures on roughly comparable hardware. The GUI technology from MP is the same as in a 3D game. That's dandy for heavy animations, but a bit overkill for nearly static screens. So it's the nature of MP to use a lot of CPU. If you do not experience sluggishness, it does not have to be a big problem. If MP is high on CPU when truly idle (say, at night) you could activate the screensaver. Hope this helps.
