i just managed to finish software and hardware installation of my htpc. i also activated cool and quiet, q-fan, and pwm features. all together it is a quite silent htpc but it could be better. when i open the htpc case (silverstone gd01-mx) the 2 case fans and the cpu fan are almost inaudible (you really cannot hear them when standing 50cm away from the case, and no, i am not deaf ;) ). but as soon as i put the top of the case back on it gets audible and i believe the noise comes from the rear of the case where the 2 case fans are installed (80cm).

my question: how can i optimize the sound of the case given that the fans themselves are inaudible?

hope to receive some advice from you guys.

thanks in advance,

kian

You could use "gum" (sorry, dont mind the correct english word for it) fan holders do reduce vibrations.
Had a similar problem with my case. Open nearly not to hear but closed...
Also my harddiscs have been a problem. I fixed it with with 2 layers of double sided tape insted of screwing the hdd case.
