Select postprocessing.
Open graphedit.
See that ffdshow filter is added but not linked into the graph.
Go to the properties for the ffdshow filter.
Go to the codecs list page.
Only raw is shown - select and set to enable all.
Close everything and restart tv/video/dvd and now ffdshow should be linked.
I guess earlier versions of ffdshow enabled raw formats by default.

Is it stable? I have been wanting to try it, but MediaPortal is unstable enough by itself :)

Well I don't actually use it myself - which may answer your question.
I did find some differences in how well it worked between tv, movies and dvd . For movies (xvids) I use ffdshow anyway - so get post-processing already. Applying it twice in the graph isn't very nice, and really doesn't help CPU usage! About stability - it just introduces another filter into the graph, which I guess is another variable to worry about.

I mentioned it really because I know some people are using it - and to date the concensus seems to be that an older version of ffdshow is required. I just wanted to make it clear that this isn't the case. I run the latest ffdshow november'05 build.
