There were a few good reasons why I stuck with this old version of MediaPortal. I just don't remember all of them except one. Being able to make the video mode interface transparent (no blue background). I'm using the latest driver for my GPU but my codecs have been the same forever. I find this being a codec problem hard to believe because why would they start bugging out all of a sudden? I dunno, I'll try updating LAV.

Yep, I'm with you 100% there. I had to ask... because if this problem started recently, something must have changed to cause it. To my semi-informed eye it looks like something related to the technicalities of playback. Codecs are only one aspect of that. If you can think of something that you changed around the time that the problem started then please by all means investigate whether that could have caused it. Just trying to offer ideas...
