Just a small plugin-beginners-question before I try all kinds of plugins and mess up my system: What does this plugin bring more than the Moving pictures and OnlineVideos plugin? As I understand it, moving pictures has a trailer feature and online videos a section for gametrailers...
A) Moving Pictures has no trailers feature (yet) B) This plugin is specialized in movie/game trailers only and Online Videos deals with any source supplying videos. OnlineVideo has copied the Apple Trailer code over from My Trailers so i guess it's the same functionality in that department. in short wether to use Online Videos or My Trailers is personal taste
Sorry, still the audio codec issue when trying to playback. Both on my HTPC and my laptop, the latter has the current SAF installed. Viewing Apple trailers with OnlineVideos does work, as a test.
looks like the proxy can't start.. it's not a codec issue. I might have to look into this.. i guess the account running does not have administrator privileges and can't register the local proxy.... try running as an administrator to see if that solves it. I will look into making this work without that administrator requirement (not a good practise )
The account that runs Media Portal has administrator rights. When starting Media Portal as administrator (right click context menu), My Trailers runs indeed.
Posted in the wrong thread, I am using the 2.0.3 icw MediaPortal 1.1 beta. Hope you can adress this when you have the time.
i believe the same answer has been given already in the TV Gemist thread. My Trailer uses the PlayStream() method because pre 1.1 that resulted in better rendering of webstreams. Now in beta 1.1 something has changed regarding PlayStream() and i haven't had the time to check out what exactly but i will look into it. PlayStream() always felt as a workaround so i will address this when there is some time to spent. Btw.. the reason OnlineVideo doesn't have this problem is because it uses it's own player which could be a working solution (after i figure out what and why the 1.1 playstream change was implemented).
