The "New Posts" (you know on the right side on mainpage at forum.team-mediaportal.com) list new posts...

Yes this is useful to get a quick glimpse of what is going on but not so useful when most are other language than the few I can understand.

Hover over the menu triangle next to the What's New? text and select the language you want to see...

MP(1) will only use LAV if you select "Internal DirectShow player" as music output, but then you lose gapless playback.
