Logs show MPV is not used but Nero and ffdshow looks to like it might be set-up as a post processor or H.264 codec.
Please remove any post processing (if any) for the sake of this test and try MPV Decoder Filter for Video...

    Still not working

    DMAN,

I was about due for a fresh installation of Windows, so I put on XP Professional SP2, ran all the updates, and installed no codecs this time around. Any idea what could be causing it now?

    Dman,
Any chance of helping me with QAM tuning? I can give you VNC access if you need it.

    1. Try the latest TVServer + Plugin build with a fresh scan
    2. Can you record me a two minute program and put it on ftp (or similar) for me to download please?

    DMAN,

I'm trying to watch ATSC channels. If I record them to a .TS file, they play fine in VLC/WMP. They do not, however, display within MP. I have MPV decoder selected as well. Here are my logs:

    --James

You say they dont display? Do you get a black screen?

I have a Kworld 120 plustv doing ATSC OTA HD, and it works fine in RC2 or RC3 but not in TV Server just tried a newer svn build of tv3 from about 3 days ago ( so after RC3 release) ... Still Just displays black on ATSC channels.

Also I am not using any QAM settings on mine... Dont think its needed for OTA

    QAM, not ATSC

Sorry, I meant to say clear QAM. Clear QAM works fine when I record the file and play it back later in VLC, I just can't either preview it (from TV Server) or watch it in MP--I get a black screen. It might be related to codecs, but I'm currently rescanning the channels, then I'll put a *.TS file up for DMAN somewhere and see where we go from there.

Well sounds like the same thing I get... Execpt I am doing OTA HD ATSC channels, and I dont have VLC installed to see if they will play. Could be a codec issue

Yeah, it was. Then I reinstalled Windows without any codecs and I was having the same problem. I can't complain though. Kudos to DMAN for all his work though. None of the commercial PVR software even have this option (except that garbage WinTV).

Okay, guys. Not sure if any of you have tried this before, but I was able to get clear QAM channels working by setting the recording type from .TS to .MPEG. Either that or simply putting an empty "usetreader.txt" text file in C:\. I will do more testing later, right now I have an erection that will probably last longer than four hours, courtesy of PBS in HD.

Yes depends on the card you have.

    DMAN

I am using a avermedia a180 to pick up QAM channels in media portal. It seems to work ok except that it picks up the QAM versions of my local channels as ATSC (channels that comcast is recieving and transformaing to QAM256).

    Here is some output.
