Hi

I did a lot of testing like infinityloop. I used a system with a clean WinXP SP2 installation (see attached screen shot). The only additional Patches I performed are KB896626 (DVB-Patch) & KB909095 (Hibernate-Problem by memsize > 1GB).
I installed the latest hardware driver for the MB & graphic card (ATI X800 GTO).

I used TV3 (Rev.15008) & SVN (Afternoon 06-26-2007, Rev.15008)

I tested:

1.) Terratec Cinergy 1200 DVB-S (BDA-Driver 4.8.16)
The channel scan crashed.

2.) TechniSAT SkyStar 2 (WDM Driver 4.4.0)
Channel scan worked

3.) TechniSAT SkyStar 2 (WDM Driver 4.4.1)
Channel scan worked

4.) TechniSAT SkyStar 2 (BDA Driver 4.4.1)
The channel scan crashed.

The log files and the corresponding entries from the event log are in the attached zip files.

I hope this will help to solve the problem. It seems that the connection to the BDA driver cause the crash

I did right now a quick check of the new TSWriter.ax which Frodo provided
:D Frodo
on my normal machine WinXP incl. all updates. The scan crashed as well (see attached file).

:D to all developers - A great job so fare - keep going
& to infinityloop & all others which try to help each other

How I solved/fixed the issue

My TVServer-Specs: See left

Okay, as i wrote in the past in this thread, i could solve the problem with help from this thread:
https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/dvb_s_setup_crash-t23712.html?t=23712&highlight=11856

MP-User "Ernie" has solved the Problem, but he did'nt understand why!!!

there is a rar attached with 3 files:
- 2 Systemfiles
- 1 Batch-File

Content of Batch-File (I fixed 2 Quotes)
%windir%\system32\regsvr32 /u mpeg2data.ax
%windir%\system32\regsvr32 /u psisdecd.dll
%windir%\system32\regsvr32 "%~dp0mpeg2data.ax"
%windir%\system32\regsvr32 "%~dp0psisdecd.dll"

"%~dp0" means current directory!

The Batch unregisters the 2 System-Files in the System-Directory and registers the new Files in the Directory where the Batch-File is stored.

After Batch-Execution and reboot, the Problem was fixed and i never had a crash again while scanning!

So, can anybody test this and give feedback?
Can anybody analyze the new Files?

The fixed rar see attachment.

Hope this works!

Probleme fixed

aquamax: :D ;) This patch is working also fine on my machíne.

I did a complete channel scan with my Cinergy 1200 DVB-S a few minutes ago.
The scan crashed previously on 11856,V,27500 as ernie mentioned in his post.

This is now part

    at first thanks!

these files are part of a patch M$ released for windowsMCE 2005 to fix an issue which made it impossible to use more than one BDA-tuner.
however, M$ has still not released this patch for WindowsXP

the only way to patch WindowsXP is the way you describe in your post.

i have added this patch to the wiki:requirements and updated the ::thread:: about it in the forums.

    :D

    Problem solved

    What a relieve...

About a year ago i tried MP for the first time. Although i liked it very much i could not use it because at the time diseqc nor my cam worked.

But this time, after i set myself to read the f***** manual, everything works.

MP, I will never let you down again, i promise!
