i am sorry but it works! I create this query: <smartPlaylist name="test comment" query="WHERE strComment like '%test%'"></smartPlaylist>
I added comments with string 'test' on some MP3. I added them to database and launch the smarplaylist and all of theses MP3 were displayed.
I don't undersdand your issue. Try to repeat my test.

Hi,

yes, you are right, it works. But I have written my flag in the field Comments with iTunes, and the MediaPortal Database doesn't accept these informations. I don't know why. So I have to go through all my files to set my flag in Comments with mptagthat. That's a lot of work and I'm to lazy at the moment. Maybe later.

I have a request for parameter support that is available in MP 1.2. This would allow the user to set up a button in a skin to open smartplaylists with a parameter. Some parameter options could be to generate a playlist (list number), start playing (yes/no), jump to now playing or some other window.

Also there are some differences in the type of playlist generated, this could be related to MP 1.2. If you generate a playlist and goto now playing the context menu will not work and "top album tracks" "similar tracks" will contain no info and there are errors in the log.

I just updated to MP 1.2.0 and now one of my most important plug-ins Smart Playlist makes some strange things.

Smart Playlist works extremely slow in MP 1.2.0. When I start the program it takes very long until the current playlist is shown. When I generate a new playlist it takes a lot of time until the playlist appears and finally when I chose to use the new playlist as current it takes the longest time. I also had it that MP completely crashed after this.

I guess it's because Smart Playlist is not 100 % compatible to the new MP version. Is there any update inteded?

Dialog menu bug:

If you open the "Select Smart Playlist" dialog window and press esc\back MP will hang. (MP 1.2.1)

Hello can you make a Installer File? So we can install and update directly with the Extension Installer ? A zip file is not so user friendly ?

Another Improvement:

You should be able to change the criterias for the Playlist in the GUI, maybe for a few criterias. So you can easy change this in the Mediaportal GUI, and when you would make a Playlist with advanced criterias you can do this in the xml file.

The Gui-function should be worked like this:

1. First you can choose a Operator (==,>,< etc)
2. You can select a criteria (Rateing, Genre, Year etc.)
3. You select or write the Variable ( 1,2,3,4,5 for the rating, 2011,2010,2009 for the Year etc.)
4. You can chose to end the creation and Save this or add another critera
5. When you choose to select another criteria, you can select (AND, OR, NOT) for the next criteria
6......
7.....

Then this would be save in the XML File and it should work the normal Way. I think this should not so difficult ?! It is possible ? This would improve this Function very much !

And I have found a Bug, in the Playlist you don't see the Covers, Track length and in the "Playing Now" you can't select the Context Menu. You must save the Playlist and open it again, than all works fine. But this problem happens with the global search Plugin too.

When I add a complete Album to the playlist, the album in the playlist is not sorted by titlenumber. Maybe a bug in the plugin?
