Re: AW: Switching MP2 to Visual Studio 2010

    Hi All,

Please note Visual Studio 2010 SP1 was released by Microsoft on 3/3/2011.

Seems not to be on Microsoft Update yet, but you can download it at Download details: Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Service Pack 1 (Installer)

This installer is for all editions of Visual Studio 2010 (Express, Professional, Premium, Ultimate, Test Professional).

No problem to build MP2 with it, seems faster...

    Cheers.

I thought this will fix my problem

    Code:
    ---------------------------
    Microsoft Visual C# 2010 Express
    ---------------------------
Solution folders are not supported in this version of the application.

Solution folder 'Extensions' will be displayed as unavailable.

But you should be able to see each project and to edit and compile the solution.

Or use ShapDevelop which handles solution folders

Hi, as Albert said, Express Edition is enough to build the solution and see the sub projects. I use it myself without problem.

I must admit sometime it's annoying in the debug process as some files are not displayed by default, but if you know the entire solution, then it's ok.

@jameson_uk : is ShapDevelop well maintained ? No majors issues ? Same debug level ? I don't know that software.

    Cheers.

I find it pretty good and is getting updated (has just been updated to v4.0 to tie up with VS2010 and .NET4)

I would say it is probably better than VS2008 (and faster) but perhaps a little less then 2010 (although I have only used VS2010 a little and mainly because of Resharper)
