Hi,

since 1.2beta i can't use anymore the Energy Save Mode of Win 7.
If i kill the TVService the Energy Save Mode works fine.

(Can someone tell me, how to get out a Bugreport file ??? If i know, i will edit this post)

    Hi Frank

I'm not sure that logs would help.
Are you able to explain what you mean by energy save mode in a little more detail?
    Like do you mean:
    - CPU is always at highest frequency...
    - PC never goes into standby/hibernate...
    - ???

    Hi,

sorry the German (Microsoft)Word for "Standby" is "Energy Save" (is that strange?!).

    OK,
if the TVService runs and i try to goto Standby, only the Monitors go black, sounds stops,
but the PC doesn't switch off. If i move the mouse, the Monitors and sound switch on (like only the Screensave was active).

If i kill the TVService, everything looks fine. PC goes to Standby and switch off. Mouse move does nothing, like it should be.
Only Keyboard press bring the PC back in 10 sec. (like normal)

If i do (cmd in Admin) "powercfg -energy" (and try to goto Standby) it said in the Log: TV service prevent to switch to standby

I tried this on two fully different Win7 PC's with the same result.

The older 1.1.3 had not that problem, it started since 1.2beta.

    Hi again

...the German (Microsoft)Word for "Standby" is "Energy Save" (is that strange?!).
I just wanted to check that you didn't mean a special mode that I didn't know about. ;)

My understanding is that you need to disable Windows power management and use the Powerscheduler or Powerscheduler++ plugin to manage standby. I don't use those plugins myself so I'm not able to give you a full answer, but I'm sure other people will be able to explain in detail.

hmm, never had to disable anything like WPM ?! Also never used any Plug-in for that.
I used MP (since years) allways "Standard", like it is.

This sounds like the "Away" mode. How do you go to standby and from where? There is a changed behaviour (on purpose) that stops the system from sending it to standby (if initiated in MP) if the TV is "running". This is to prevent you from accidentally stopping a running recording. MP will initiate the Away mode instead, which will mute audio & black the screen.

If you use a remote that can be mapped, do the following:
Map the Standby button to. 1. Stop, 2. Home, 3. Standby

This should send the system to standby (unless a recording is active).

i guess Microsoft confusing by there translations of words.

Ok a normal Windows 7 PC has:
    German / English
    Herunterfahren = Shutdown
    Abmelden = Log Off
    Ruhezustand = Hibernate
    Energy Save = Standby

Click Start/Standby and the PC goes OFF after 10 sec.
Press Keyboard and the PC starts immediately inner 5 sec without Biosscreen (since Win7 SP1)

If TVService runs, it will not switch off anymore.
In earlier Version (1.1.3 and older) it works nicely and on startup the TVService and MP was automaticly restarted.
For sure also possible by Remotecontrol aso (but thats not the problem).

Why does TVService prevent it ? I know when i am recording and when not. (Btw. only Timeshift is active.)

    EDIT:
ok i guess i got now what u mean.

Its not really the TVService which prevent the Standby.
Its only if MP is running and shows TV.

Is there any config possible which deaktivates this prevent of Standby ?
Cause if i do the steps stopping MP (or stopping TV) and then Standby, then after
the resume the TV (or MP) isn't automaticly started again. (and i have to do serval steps to resume TV, not comfi)

Could it be that the older Version prevent the Standby only if TVService was active on RECORD ?

AW: TVService prevent Energy Save Mode

i have exact the same problem:

if live-tv is running and i press the button for standby on the remote, its not goeing into standby and only make the screen black.
by pressing the arror keys on the remote, the picture is comming back again.
standby only works if live tv is tunred off.

the button for the remote is called under the great tool eventghost: mceremote.power.
so i tried to create keystrikes sending double b, that tv is turned of first and then goeing into standby.
but its not working becouse the command: mceremote.power is sendet first from the remote and then evenghost is sending the keystrikes (double b) wich is turning of live-tv.

    yep, thats it.

    Live-TV prevents the Standby.

Its may be a good idear to prevent it, but it would be better to prevent it only if
    a recording is in progress.

I found a workaround buts its not realy comfi to do:

    Standby:
Setup a "MP OFF" Button at ur Remote.
Press MP OFF, then PC-OFF (Standby if set als default in Windows).

    Resume:
    Press PC-OFF to start PC
Press Green Button to restart MP
Press Green Button again to get the Focus to MP (also a major Problem)

In 1.1.3 it was only one Button Press for all :-(

    yep, exactly!

if one has a recording, then there are in powerscheduler client/server-plugin are options for avoiding standby. so this can t be the reason for this issue.

its seems that tv-server denies every standby requests if live-tv is running.
for me is this change to mediaportal not understundable.
it makes nothing better the oposite is the case.
