mp2 playback support

One thing that seems a backward step in MP2 (v2.2) v MP1 is the lack of support for many video formats. I have been unable to playback many MP4 and MOV files, where they would play in MP1 without problems. Is there anyway to over come this issue, as I need to be able playback these files...
