I have applied all hotfixes, all updates from MS, FFDShow, etc, etc... Spent the last 2 weeks trying to get this thing to work.

Pretty much I get one frame (like a snapshot) then the FPS go's to zero.
Manual control under tv-server congif loads sometimes/other times doesn't even load (I cant be bothered waiting past ten minutes for it)...

Basically I am at wits end (my wife is threatning to throw the PC out of the window by the morning if it does not work by then... (Needless to say I would not like that to happen)

TV-Server Version: Latest (1.0 RC2)

I used to get the following when I go to view TV:
Unable to start timeshifting
Unable to start graph

I followed the wiki re-installed a few times. Eventually I got the above described symptoms of one frame, then MP seems to "Hang" for want of a better word, "shift+1" shows 0FPS, sync 0, drawn 0, dropped 0, jitter 0 and a white line running down the screen from right to left. (I get one new "frame/pic/screenshot/call it what you will" every 4 minutes (using a stop watch)

When I click on TV-Streams is shows the current stream but nothing else. The EPG also seems to not be functioning either (it was before)...

CPU usage is sitting at 21% and spikes to 78% every ten minutes

This seems to me to be a codec thing or maybe a driver thing??? Dunno frankly I am over it... (Oh yea I also don't have sound now BTW... at least I could turn the sound up and drown the nagging out before...)

I hate to say this: but I may have to go back to Arcsoft's Total Media Player if I cant get MediaPortal to work **Shudders at the thought of the constant "I told you so's" in my future if I do from she who has to be obeyed or I sleep on the couch*** as I frankly have had enough of a nagging wife who cant record her programs and trying to get software to work for 2 weeks

Thanks in advance for understanding and helping

Your system specs show two serious deficiencies

512mb is way to low for system memory and you will be causing the OS to thrash the HD for virtual memory usage.

You realy need a basic minimum of 1gig, 2gig optimum with XP.

Your GPU isn't strong enough. the real minimum is an ATI9500pro and not any of the cut down versions (ie 4pipe or 64 bit ) the 9250 isn't upto scratch.

ATI officialy dropped support at CATS 6.11 and there isn't support for it in VISTA.

None of the above will help you have a smoth start to your MP experience.
