If you run configuration.exe but do not enter the codec section, the choice of renderer will not be saved in MediaPortal.xml, and MP will then default to VMR9 even on Vista and W7.
Proposal to fix - since config is able to determine the correct default settings for this section when it runs, save these into the xml file when config is first run.
Confirmed multiple times in team forum.
