since i upgraded to 1.0.2 from 1.0.1 i have a very strange error occuring when i use channel up or channel down on the remote. when i do ch. up/down, i get a frozen picture of the channel i was on and then i start to hear one of the radio stations! if i try again to channel up or down again at this point it seems to switch to another radio station. The GUI is totally frozen and all i see is the frozen picture of the last tv channel viewed.

in the mediaportal.log file this seems to be a key point...
    2009-05-21 20:16:08.986000 [Info.][MPMain]: Navigator:ZapNext BBC TWO->BBC Radio 1

as you can see zapping to the next channel up, changed from BBC TWO (TV Channel) to BBC Radio 1 (Radio statio)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For now i might try to go back to 1.0.1, but will wait to hear any suggestions first. THANKS!!

ps if you are looking in the logs, i started up mp, went straight to tv. i waited til 20:16 then pressed channel up (twice i think) then had to force mp to close.

weird tv and radio mix up...

Previously i had just been trying fullscreen tv, but i've just tried with the initial tv screen (where the tv window is towards to the right of the screen and you have some option buttons on the left)

on this screen the picture doesn't freeze and i'm able to still navigate but more importantly i am able to see what stations are being selected. i was able to scroll up the channels (using channel up on the remote) and the order seemed to be 2tv stations then 2radio stations then 2tv stations then 2 radio etc etc...

    my tv channel order is

    bbc one
    bbc two
    itv 1
    channel 4
    five
    bbc three

    my radio order is:

    bbc radio 1
    bbc 1xtra
    bbc radio 2
    bbc radio 3
    bbc radio 4
    bbc R5L

BUT the order i saw when pressing channel up was as follows:

    bbc one
    bbc two

    bbc radio 1
    bbc 1xtra

    itv 1
    channel 4

    bbc radio 2
    bbc radio 3

    five
    bbc three

    bbc radio 4
    bbc R5L

When i got a tv station the tv picture showed as it should and a blank tv area when on a radio station.

    Hope this helps

    #####edit:

ok. this seems to fix it...

i went into tv server configuration > radio channels
on the channels tab i unticked all of the radio stations. i changed nothing else.

now the error above does not occur when zapping through tv channels using channel up/down on the remote. also i can still listen to the radio from the normal radio screen in mp.

so i guess my question is, how did this problem happen and what do those tick boxes do for the radio channels in the config?

fixed. completely uninstall and then install

this drove me crazy last night. after the channel up and down was working i then realised that if used the numbers that also messed things up. for example if i tried to enter 3 on the remote, it was trying to change channel to bbc radio 1. so it was thinking the numbers related to the mixed up list of tv/radio channels mentioned earlier. this then also caused the epg to only show bbc 1 and bbc 2... and then when i went into tv server config i could not access the tv channel group page or the manual control page.

i gave up and decided to completely uninstall mp and then install again. Everything now works as it should... phew!

i had originally used the upgrade feature to go from 1.0.1 to 1.0.2, so i guess it was this that messed up the channels. so lesson learned... it's always better to do a clean install than an upgrade!

Same issue here upgrading from 1.0.0 to 1.0.2. I'll try to uninstall/reinstall everything.

I had this exact same issue. Turns out it was the All Channels group going nuts. Deleteing it groups from both the Television and Radio Sections cured the problem.

hopefully this won't happen in future releases, but if it does i'll try deleting the groups as you did wonkyd.

    Thanks :)
