From approx 21:24 - 21:26 LiveTV suddenly went very jerky. I checked the dpc latency and that was fine. This has been happening quite a lot since installing 1.2.2. With 1.2.1 and v84_part_dwm_dshowhelper LiveTV worked great.

It's just a performance problem somewhere in your system - the 'Dropping sample from the past' messages are because the incoming video samples (decoded frames) are late and have to be discarded to maintain A/V sync.

So what tells you it's a problem with my system and does it indicate what the problem might be and how to fix it? Certainly the dpc latency seems to be within acceptable limits.

I don't really understand why I should have this problem with 1.2.2 but not 1.2.1.

Neither do I.....I was just pointing out the most common cause of the symptoms in the evr.log (there's also some evidence of TsReader.ax running low on data at around the same time). When it happens again, try pausing TV briefly - to buffer more data in the timeshift file - and see if it helps.

And using an aggressive tone like "So what tells you it's a problem with my system" is a good way of getting people to ignore your posts  (I almost did...or maybe I should have just deleted the thread instead - might have been more satisfying )

Nothing has changed in 1.2.2 (TsWriter, TsReader) that should affect playback. I also don't see any other reports of this.

Did you change anything else with your system at the same time? Does dropping back to 1.2.1 fix the problem reliably (and for more than 5 minutes)?

I made a suggestion in another of your threads.

I don't pretend to understand why, but you have always had issues with MediaPortal. Maybe what you think is jerky playback would be acceptable to most people, I really don't know.

Perhaps you should record a video of the playback and upload it to youtube, so we can actually see what is going on.

Sorry if that came across aggressively. I didn't mean it that way, only was trying to ask if there was something specific you'd noticed that might help me narrow down the problem.

I think the only thing I changed recently was to uninstall Outpost Security Suite (as it causes dpc latency problems) and replace it with Comodo firewall. I did install VMware but that too causes dpc latency problems, so I've uninstalled that as well.

I'll try dropping back to 1.2.1 to see if it's any better. I was using nostopmodv41 with 1.2.1, so maybe I should try using that with 1.2.2 first though.

It was definitely very jerky playback, as bringing up the stats showed it had dropped from 50fps to around 33fps.

Well I did a few things and haven't noticed this problem since, so fingers crossed.

    Installed nostopmodv41

Disabled "Enforce Smooth Video Playback" in CCC

Uninstalled Actual Multiple Monitors v4beta (and installed AMM v3.4.2)
