Well, this is very strange. I have just performed a true first-time install of MP 1.36 64-bit on Windows 10 64-bit, with all Windows maintenance applied (up to 2024-12-11). MP 1.36 installed without problem  :). This is the pre-install summary: MP was installed on a laptop which does not have access to a TV tuner. However, I chose to install TV Server anyway. "TV Server Config" started OK, but without a TV tuner I could not test TV reception. "MP Config" also started OK, and I subsequently started the MP client and visited several panels. So in summary it looks to be a working installation. I have a USB TV tuner somewhere, so I will see if I can find that and connect it to my loft aerial and check TV reception. I said above that this was a true first-time install. By that I mean that this was an empty Windows 10 partition that had never had any applications or tools installed, and especially had never had MP installed (or any other media centre software). A simulated first-time install would be to run the MP uninstaller, the MySQL uninstaller, the MariaDB uninstaller, reboot, manually delete all remaining folders that have "MediaPortal", "MySQL", or "MariaDB" anywhere in the name, reboot, and finally run the MP installer. Is there a difference between a true first-time install and a simulated first-time install? Well, registry variables are not deleted, so that might be significant. However, I don't know where we go from here to identify the installation problem that some users are experiencing. -- from CyberSimian in the UK
