Synopsis::

100 % cpu when sitting on the main screen in media portal - appear to be able to watch tv ok but its laggy when trying to switch between that and watching a dvd etc. im still to get a 3d video card that will fit in this machine but other PVR apps dotn use 100% CPU

    Until then we probably cant help you much, as you said, youll need another graphics card. Other apps dont have the problem because they dont use the same interface as MP do (directx).

    The bigest problem here is memory. You have 256 internal memory but your graphics card also eats away a far amount of this (is has no memory on its own). So I ques your harddrive is also going crazy. As it needs to swap memory pages from and to the harddrive.

    So you need more memory first (an extra 256 would do fine)
    Your onboard video is also only DX8 hardware compatible which also causes extra load for the processor, thus a DX9 compatible card is highly recomended.

    ok - well im awaiting a new graphics cards which is the gigabyte FX5200 so hopefully that should help alot. but as for the hdd access - its not too bad, like the cpu was being used the same on the front screen that loads up as it was when watching live tv
