I recently switched to version 1.0.1 of MP and so far everything works just great :). However, I haven't tuned in to Astra HD+ and Anixe HD in a while. When I tried today, it said "Could not start timeshift. Channel is encrypted" (on both of them). I thought ok, maybe I need to make a new channel search (I always exported/imported the old one). After that, I suddenly have 2 Astra HD+ and 2 Anixe HD in my list (all on different frequencies). The old one in each case still says "Could not start timeshift. Channel is encrypted" and on the new ones I get "Could not start timeshift. Could not start graph."

ORF 1 HD still works though, so I don't know if this is a system problem. But I guess it's a problem with the 1080i content (the graph error would indicate that, I suppose). Can anyone confirm for me, that those channels have in fact moved to new frequencies and that they are still not encrypted?

I will provide logs for the graph error channels later on.

    Hi,
My crystal ball it's still missing so you need to collect & attach all logs after a failure on those channels (use MediaPortal logs collector found in start menu".

I know I know ;). I just wanted to ask before I could create logs, if Astra HD+ and Anixe HD have in fact moved. Anyway, here are the logs:

// edit: that's weird... it seems WatchDog is creating a corrupted archive for me. At least I can't open it?

    Hi,
You can open the logs with windows extract, but the needed logs, tv.log & TsWriter.log it's missing..

I use a Server - Client setup, here are the tv.log and TsWriter.log from the server. I originally thought that this happens on all clients. But it only happens on my Laptop so far. It's a Dell XPS M1330, with a GeForce 8400 GS, with Windows Vista 32 and I am using Core AVC Pro 1.9.5.0 there. MP is configured to use EVR. The MediaPortal.log does not seem to indicate any graph problems? In the tv.log you can see at the 18:11 mark, that the server eventually gets a timeout from the client.

Anixe HD and Astra HD+ work fine on the system described in my original post. I'll try with VMR9 on the laptop.

    Hi,
Ok so it's a client problem, then the problem it's not server ;)
Maybe codecs related(AC3 audio), tv server logs seems fine so that part is good.

Yeah, maybe it's an issue with Core AVC 1.9.5.0? On the other client I also use Core AVC, but still 1.8.0.0

Spooky, I am confused. Maybe I don't understand your issue.

Astra changed frequencies a few days ago and the Anixe HD on the old frequency is now scrambled. See for example here. However, there is a new Anixe HD, which is free channel and this one works fine. I have observed the same behavior reported by you above and I certainly did not upgrade to a any new CoreAVC version but still run on 1.8.0.0, under which I can't decode the "old" Anixe HD. Pretty normal since it is officially scrambled.

Yes, the problem with "channels is encrypted" was due to the old channel data.

After I updated, I get a "could not start graph" error on 1080i channels. I narrowed it down to the deinterlacing itself. When using Core AVC (on any of my MP clients, with any Core AVC versions), I get the graph error on 1080i channels with pure Software deinterlacing (Single Field or Bob). When I set the Core AVC configuration to hardware deinterlacing, the channels work. (But setting the deinterlacing method of Core AVC to hardware is not preferred, since it doesn't provide a stable framerate for me.)

I also tried the PowerDVD 8 h264 codec on my laptop, but I didn't have luck with any configuration (VMR9, EVR) on 1080i channels. Before MP 1.0.1 I had 1.0.0.0 RC3, where everything was still fine.
