    Hi everyone.

Is it possible to configure mediaportal to receive the signal from two different remotes??

I use the Microsoft remote control but i would also like to use my tv remote arrows, ok, and back keys to use mp.

is it possible to map my tv remote to do this? the keys i pretend to use dont operate anything when the input is the pc port so it will not affect the tv.

so is it possible to have both enabled at the same time? should i use the IR suite to config the tv remote?

    thanks a lot !!:D

btw. i would use the microsoft ir receive for both remotes.

yep, that's possible (if your tv remote uses one of the supported IR protocols).

IR Server Suite will let you do that, so would HIP if you prefer it, not sure about the others.

Just install the Input Service and the MP Control Plugin (or "Translator" if you want whole PC control).

Configure MP Control Plugin and create new button mappings for the buttons on your tv remote.

If your TV remote doesn't use a compatible protocol then I'd be happy to add support for it, so let me know if it doesn't recognise it.

    good luck,

ok, the Input Service Configuration just sets up the device you want to use for receiving and sending IR commands. In this case it's the Microsoft MCE Transceiver.

Now you need to set up the MP Control Plugin.

Make sure you disable any other MCE remote support in mediaportal before using the MP Control Plugin.

In the main configuration screen for the MP Control Plugin you will need to find the buttons you want to associate new remote buttons to and then with each button selected, one by one, press the new remote button you'd like to associate to it... you should see a new number code spring up in the Tree view and a message in the status area saying "KeyCode xxxxx mapped to yyyyyy" or something like that :)

I hope that makes sense, if not I'll prepare some screen shots to show you the process...

I'm not home right now, so I'll have to do that later, but let me know how you go first.

    Cheers,
