Hi, i just got 3 questions.
I have 2 twin tuner DVB-T cards in my old gaming pc, xfx 790i ultra, 2.8ghz dual core, 4 gig ddr3, 1 gig radeon HD (5430 i think it is)
1. sometimes after accessing media portal client on the server it begins to hard lock every 5 seconds or so. if i restart the pc it doesnt do it. it doesnt happen all the time but maybe every 3rd or 4th time i access the client. and sometimes media portal freezes and i have to terminate the process. it doesnt do it in any other software or MCE. i had this pc running windows 2000 server before this and it didnt have issues at all and it was running 6 months straight without a restart it is an epically stable machine hardware wise. only thing new is i dropped it back to windows 7, installed 2 dual tuner cards and installed mediaportal.
2. i have a tivo, (in australia so just freview tv) so it has 2 tuners in it. the best thing about the tivo is i can watch tv on one tuner and then switch to the other tuner during adds and rewind back to the end of the adds watch that show then swithc back to the other tuner rinse and repeat. since we have like 20 mins adds per 45 min program this lets me watch both shows live.
so is there a way to make it so i can have 1 tuner active on a channel and 1 active on another channel and switch between the 2 so i can do that same thing.
at the moment i rewind after changing to another channel and it rewinds my stream. but id like to be able to switch between streams basically so i can rewind the other stream for the channel its on and not rewind through my channel switches.
3. i have a open plan dining kitchen living area but i cant see the tv from the kitchen so i have a laptop in the kitchen that i was going to use to play tv with but it is like 15 seconds behind the tv in the living area so the sound is way out.
is there a way that i can have both devices using the same stream so they are in sync instead of having them create their own streams
thanks, these are my only major probs, i been working on this for a few days now just trying to get it all running nice enough to replace my tivo.
