Hi I have several SD-channels (DVB-T) that switch between 16:9 and 4.3 format (most new shows are 16:9, but some older shows/movies are still 4:3). On my old STB (set top box) this was handled by the STB by sending af flag in the signal (via SCART) so that the TV automatically switches between the two aspect ratios. I realize that the 16:9 signal is "just" a anamorphic widescreen signal, but the flag that the signal contais triggers my TV to sort this problem out by itself. This is not done when you connect receiver -> TV via a digital connection or even VGA. I already knew that, but how does you other MP-users handle this? Do you switch aspect ratio manually on every 16:9 -> 4:3 change (and back again)? My nightmare (WAF-concern) is to have to use the aspect ratio button everytime the signal changes from 16:9 -> 4:3 or the other way... :o My current TV is a 16:9 plasma.
